Pregnancy #2

I'm not a big fan of Dr. Oz, but when I read what he said in a magazine in regards to being fit during pregnancy, I completely agreed with him! He made the comment that many women are excited with pregnancy because they feel that they now have an excuse to take a "two year hiatus" from exercise, and that they are now "eating for two" so they are justified in eating cake, ice cream and second helpings for nine months (and beyond, if they breastfeed). He claims that in reality you are only eating for 1.1 people, which is equivalent to the calories in an ice cream cone or doughnut, so it better not be coming from those things! I really disliked when someone would push me to eat more when I was pregnant because "you're eating for 2 now!" they would say. How wrong they are, and how sad it is when women feel that way and then gain much more than needed, and then complain how they can't lose the baby weight!

I am 7 weeks pregnant with my second child and will be writing about my fitness goals and diet during these nine months. Hopefully it will inspire you.
