Snacks are a must!

To keep your body burning calories, your metabolism should be kept up by fueling it with healthy food every few hours. I found this was one of the biggest changes I needed to make a couple of years ago when I got serious about losing weight, feeling more energetic, having clearer skin and basically ridding my body of unhealthy foods!By eating something every 2-3 hours I don't eat as much at meals because I am not starving, and my body doesn't store everything I eat as fat because it sees that it will be fed again, soon!

Now that I am pregnant for the second time, eating every few hours is the only way I stay energized. Here is a list of some of my usual snacks (each 300 calories or less)

-An apple with 2 tab. Peanut butter
-1/2 cup fat-free cottage cheese with grapes, pineapple, or a pear
-A small green salad with Garbanzo beans and vegetables, drizzled with vinaigrette
-High fiber cereal such as Kashi or Total with 1/2 cup fat-free milk
-Celery, carrot and broccoli dipped in Peanut butter or fat-free dressing
-Plain fat-free yogurt with wheat germ, fruit and a drizzle of honey
