Baby Appointment

I had my monthly check-up last Friday. We have had company for the last 2 weeks and so I was a little concerned about my possible weight gain due to my little exercise and food indulgences but I was very pleased to find out I had still managed to gain only 2 lbs! Also, I will now be seen every 2 weeks, rather than monthly, until my due date.

A few thoughts...

-I often wonder why women feel that they don't have to be as concerned with what they eat while pregnant. The impression I get is that women know they are going to gain a lot of weight while they are pregnant and so they "help" it along by eating more food, and of the worst kind! Don't they realize the baby inside deserves good nutrients, and so if they aren't going to eat right for themselves they at least should think of the unborn baby!
Many people comment on how small I stay while pregnant, and how fast I got "my shape back" after I had my first baby, but what they don't realize is I work hard for it! I keep a food log every day to make sure I am eating a well balanced diet within a certain caloric range and I do some form of exercise daily. I wish others would take their pregnancy as seriously as I do.

-Heartburn has played a big role in my life the last couple of weeks! Spicy foods, chocolate (yes I do eat chocolate once in a while!), salad dressing and raw vegetables all seem to contribute to it. I have learned to avoid those things close to bedtime, take mylanta and to sleep propped up!
